There are no major safety concerns in Croatia – care should be taken, however, if travelling to remote areas such as the Danube region in eastern Slavonia and Krajina, as there are still a number of unexploded landmines left over from the war. Visitors are advised to stay away from empty fields and abandoned villages if in these regions. It is recommended that vaccination is taken out against Tick-borne encephalitis if visiting forested areas.
